China Leads World Tourism

China’s emerging wealth has caused a dramatic increase in travel with more than 80 people traveling internationally last year, according to the UN World Tourism Organization.

Over the past decade China has led the growth in tourism spending a little over 100 Billion dollars in 2012, surpassing both the USA and Germany at around 85 billion.

 

China Air Travel Surging

Driven by tourism and the surging middle class, China’s air traffic is growing rapidly. Beijing is expected to be the world’s busiest airport in the next year. In twenty years China is expected to surpass the US in domestic passenger traffic and attain the top spot as leading international destination a few years after that.
